About Mostar Day Trip

An independent planning site for day trips to Mostar and Herzegovina from the Adriatic gateway cities. This page sets out who publishes it, how it is researched, how it is funded, and how to tell us when we are wrong.

What this site is

Mostar Day Trip is an independent editorial publication. It is not a tourism board, not a government body, and not a tour operator. It exists to answer one specific question well: can this day trip be done, from the city you are already sleeping in, and what does it actually cost in hours?

Every guide is built around that structure rather than around a list of attractions, because the attraction lists already exist everywhere and the hour-by-hour arithmetic largely does not.

How we write figures

  • Times and prices are published as ranges, with the reason they move. A transfer that takes 2h30 with one operator and 3h30 with another is not a 3h transfer. We give the range and say what shifts it.
  • Where two credible sources disagree, we say so instead of picking one. A disagreement between sources is itself information.
  • We do not promise what you will see. Wildlife, weather and water levels are not commitments. Where a page mentions them it gives a calendar fact or a probability, not a guarantee.
  • Where a superlative would normally go, we put a measurement. Not “the most beautiful village” but the distance, the climb and the hours. A claim we cannot measure is a claim we do not make.

Sources

Fees, border formalities and opening hours are set by institutions, not by guidebooks, and they change by administrative decision. Where a page quotes a rate or a rule, it names the institution, links its official portal, and carries the date the figure was checked. Confirm there before you rely on it: a page on this site is a starting point, not the authority.

How we are funded

The site is funded by affiliate commissions. Booking through a link here may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change the price you pay and it does not change what we recommend: we do not sell placements, sponsored posts, or a higher position in a comparison.

Photograph credits

Every photograph on this site is licensed, self-hosted on this domain, and credited below with its author, its licence and its source page. We accept only CC0, public domain and CC BY material. We deliberately exclude CC BY-SA: share-alike would be inherited by every resized and re-encoded copy we generate, so a single BY-SA source would contaminate the whole delivery.

Questions we get asked

Is Mostar Day Trip an official tourism website?

No. It is an independent editorial site. For border rules, park fees and opening hours the authority is the institution that sets them, and we link to the official source wherever we quote a figure.

Do you run the tours you write about?

No. We are not a tour operator, not a travel agency and not a booking agent. Every bookable trip we link to is run by a licensed local operator. You contract with them, not with us.

How do you make money?

Affiliate commissions. If you book through a link on this site we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change what we recommend. We do not sell placements or featured positions.

Where do your photographs come from?

Every photograph is licensed from Wikimedia Commons under CC0, public domain or CC BY, self-hosted on this domain, and credited by author and licence below. We do not use CC BY-SA material, because share-alike would be inherited by every resized copy we generate.

Who is accountable

Independent editors who plan Mostar and Herzegovina day trips from the Adriatic gateway cities, and cite only verifiable, dated sources. Every page carries a byline and a last-reviewed date, and every page carries a route to report an error. Corrections are made openly: where a figure was wrong, the page says what changed.
