Every Mostar Day Trip, in One Table

Three verified products across three gateway towns — durations, borders, costs and the operator running each one.

Most Mostar tour lists are sorted by popularity, which tells you nothing about whether a trip is possible from where you are staying. This table is sorted by departure town instead, and carries the columns that actually decide a booking: how long the day runs, whether it crosses a border, what it costs, and which company operates it. All three products below were verified as live pages run by named operators in September 2026, and every booking link opens that specific product rather than a search page.

How to read this table

  • Durations are bands, not schedules. They vary by operator, season and border queues, which is why ranges are printed rather than single figures.
  • Border means formalities, not distance. A cross-border day passes through two posts in each direction, and that queue is unpredictable by nature.
  • Cost is per person, in euros, for easy comparison. In Bosnia you pay in convertible marks (BAM); the rate is fixed at 1 EUR ≈ 1.95583 BAM.
  • Park and mosque entries are never included unless the product page says so. Add them on arrival.

All three, side by side

Verified September 2026. Every row departs from the town named in the second column, and every operator is the one published on that product’s own booking page — this site is an affiliate and never the operator.

Sorting by duration puts the Sarajevo day — about 9–11 hours and no border — next to the Split day at 11–13 hours with two border crossings. They are not the same product and should not be compared on price alone.

The distinction that decides most bookings

The rows look similar but the border is the whole point. From Dubrovnik and Split you leave the EU, cross into Bosnia, and cross back — four desk visits in a day, with summer waits running 20 to 90 minutes per direction. From Sarajevo you are already in Bosnia, so the day is continuous sightseeing and usually the lowest cost. If avoiding the border is the goal, only the Sarajevo row does it.

Two ways to do it from the coast

Both Dubrovnik and Split reach Mostar with a Kravice add-on. Dubrovnik is the shorter drive (2h45 vs about 3h each way) and the more established route; Split works when Mostar is one stop on a longer Dalmatian loop that may also take in Plitvice or Kotor. See day trips from Dubrovnik and from Split for the full comparisons.

What a day costs

Across the three gateways, guided Mostar day tours sit in a €35–100 per person band. The Sarajevo day sits at the low end because there is no border and shorter transfer; the coastal days cost more because the hours and fuel are longer. Public buses run lower still (about €15–25 from Dubrovnik) but take roughly twice as long and handle the border yourself.

On top of any tour price come the site entries, which are set by the sites and not by us or the operator: Kravice and the Koski mosque each charge a modest per-person fee, and the bazaar and Stari Most viewing are free to walk. The full per-item picture — tours, buses, car rental, entries and food — is on what a Mostar trip costs.

Booking links: what we will and will not do

  • Every link opens a specific product, never a search results page or a homepage. You land on the tour described in the row.
  • Every operator named here is the one published on that booking page at the time we checked. Operators change, so if a row disagrees with the booking page, the booking page is right — tell us and we will correct it.
  • Commission never decides the row order. The table is sorted by departure town because that is the constraint a traveller actually has; we do not sell positions, and there is no paid placement on this site.

Where the numbers come from

Durations, departure points and inclusions come from the operating itineraries of the operators named in each row, checked in September 2026. Border crossing behaviour comes from the Croatian and Bosnian border authorities. Our full sourcing standard is published on our editorial standards page.

If a figure here disagrees with the operator’s or the authority’s own page, they are right and we are wrong — tell us and we will correct it and move the reviewed date.

FAQ

Which Mostar day trip should I book first?

It depends on the town you are already in, not on the tour. From Dubrovnik the standard is the Mostar and Kravice day tour. From Split it is the same pairing on a longer drive. From Sarajevo the day is border-free and usually the cheapest, because you are already inside Bosnia.

Why do you not publish one price per tour?

Because we cannot keep a single figure true. Rates change with season and operator, and are revised without notice. We print cost bands and tell you to check live prices instead of publishing a number that would be wrong within weeks. The bands above come from the operators’ own listing pages, checked in September 2026.

What do you mean by border crossed twice?

On the Dubrovnik and Split days you pass from Croatia into Bosnia on the way and back into Croatia on the return — two formalities in each direction. Sarajevo is inside Bosnia, so that day has none. The border is the part the drive time cannot absorb: in summer the wait ranges from 20 to 90 minutes per direction across the various crossings.

Can you combine two of these in one day?

No. Each gateway day is already 9–13 hours on its own, and they depart from different countries. The realistic combination is to add a nearby sight — Kravice, Blagaj or Počitelj — to whichever day you choose, which most tours already do.

Mostar Day Trip may earn a commission from bookings made through partner links, at no extra cost to you. Prices, seasons and availability change — verify on the operator’s page before you travel.
